Beyond Moore
1チップ上に集積されるトランジスターの数は2018年には300億個を超えるといわれ、いよいよ電子の作用の限界に到達した。人間の頭脳の領域にまでも近づいてきた。この極限を超えると技術の世界はどんな地平を目指すのか、シンギュラリテイと呼ばれる概念が言われているが、抽象的で今一つわからない。アメリカでは、この度、DARPAが ”ポスト・ムーア” のエレクトロニクス技術開発へ挑戦するプロジェクトを立ち上げることを発表した。第1回のDARPA Electoronics Resurgence Initiative Summit が7月24日サンフランシスコで開催された。
